Roots Riding Stables was born from a shared love of horses, family and the unspoiled beauty of Saint Lucia. We are a husband, wife and son, alongside Luther, our much-loved Labradoodle who proudly believes he’s one of the herd. Together, with a small team who share our values, we’ve created a place where horses, people and nature exist in harmony, offering authentic experiences while always putting the wellbeing of our horses first. Every ride is designed to help our guests slow down, reconnect with nature and experience the island through the eyes of our family and our horses.
A Family Grounded in Horses
Our story brings together two worlds. My husband was born and raised in Saint Lucia, where he spent years working with horses and guiding riders along these very beaches. I grew up in the UK with a lifelong love of horses and a passion for their care and welfare. When our family made the move to Saint Lucia, our son quickly discovered his own love of riding, and it wasn’t long before horses became the heart of our family life. By combining local knowledge, lifelong experience and a shared passion for these incredible animals, Roots Riding Stables was born.
The Inspiration Behind Roots
Our dream began with a simple wish: to share the unforgettable experience of riding through tropical trails and swimming with horses in the Caribbean Sea. As that dream grew, so did our purpose. We wanted to create a place where every horse is valued, every guest feels connected to nature, and every experience leaves a lasting appreciation for the beauty of Saint Lucia. Along the way, we opened our hearts to horses in need, giving many a second chance through patient rehabilitation, compassionate care and a safe place to call home. Today, our passion extends far beyond riding, with a commitment to improving horse welfare and helping create a brighter future for horses across our island.
