Plan your ride
Everything you need before you ride with us at Cas en Bas: what to wear, how we match horses and riders, transfers, weather and payment.
Rates from US$125 per person
Every ride is private, with your own guide, photos and videos of your ride, and a horse ridden once a day at most.
“These horses are so well looked after and it really shows.”
Before you ride
Do I need riding experience?
No. Every ride is suitable for beginners except the Advanced Canter & Swim, which is for confident riders who ride independently at faster paces. Kids are welcome too: we match each child to a horse that suits them.
Are there age or weight limits?
Tell us everyone’s age, height and weight when you book so we can match the right horse. We don’t set fixed limits; we match each rider to a horse that suits them.
What should I wear?
Long trousers or leggings, closed shoes, and swimwear underneath for the swim rides. Bring sun cream. We provide helmets.
What if the sea or weather isn’t safe?
If sea or weather conditions make a ride unsafe, we’ll offer another date or a refund. For other changes, message us as early as you can.
Can you collect me from my hotel or the cruise dock?
Transfers are arranged separately. Message us on WhatsApp with where you’re staying or which ship you’re on and we’ll send the details.
Will there be photos?
Yes. Your guide takes photos and videos of your ride for you, so you can simply enjoy it.
How do I pay?
You book and pay securely through our booking system, BookSpot.
Where do rides start?
Every ride starts at Roots Riding Stables, Cas en Bas, Gros Islet, in the north of Saint Lucia.
